Groysman tells about purpose of MPs’ immunity

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman has said that MPs’ immunity should concern only the right of expressing own political position and voting by MPs.
The speaker said this in an interview with a TV channel.
“An MP has to protect a mandate when he or she has political believes, and votes in a way how he or she considers is necessary to vote, and defends his or her position,” Groysman said.
At the same time, according to Groysman, the MPs’ immunity should not extend to the cases of law violation by MPs.
