Combatant status given to 86,559 servicemen from ATO - Derevyanko

KYIV, September 15/ Ukrinform /. The status of combatant has been assigned to 86,559 servicemen who participated in the anti-terrorist operation in the Donbas conflict zone.
Chairman of the state office of Ukraine for war veterans and participants of the anti-terrorist operation Artur Derevyanko told reporters at a briefing Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.
According to the official, the problematic issue remains as to the providing of the status to the volunteers who were engaged in combats who later became a part of the law enforcement agencies. "The issue is being solved slowly," he noted.
