Terrorists seize Treasury, National Bank offices in Donetsk

KYIV, June 16 /Ukrinform/. Terrorists from the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" have seized the buildings of the regional Treasury and the central department of the National Bank of Ukraine in Donetsk.

According to Novosti Donbassa, gunmen are on duty around the perimeter of the NBU building.

"Nobody is let in the building itself, but aggressors allowed employees to leave the premises," reads the report.

Earlier, the press service of the Donetsk Regional State Administration reported the seizure of the Treasury.

"This action will have implications for residents of the region. The payment of all salaries to state employees, pensions, and allowances will stop," Chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration Serhiy Taruta said.

He demanded that the work of the Treasury be immediately unblocked.
