KYIV, May 19 /Ukrinform/. The Interior Ministry divided the territory of Ukraine into zones in which the police will maintain law and order during the elections, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov told a conference call on the preparation and conduct of the early presidential elections in Ukraine in Kyiv on Monday.
"The working schedule of the Interior Ministry and all units for the time - on Friday and ending with the counting of votes - will be special. We have identified three zones - white zone where we do not see problems, pink zone - where provocations are possible, and red zone - where we understand that there will be difficulties. We will act appropriately in relation to these zones," he said.
The red zone includes approximately 14 district centers, Avakov added.
A special security regime will be introduced in eastern Ukraine. In addition, rapid response groups will be deployed to the "hot spots" (red and pink zones).
