Ukrinform
Kyiv, March 11 /Ukrinform/. MP from the Party of Regions Yuriy Miroshnychenko believes that holding of the Crimean referendum March 16 is illegal, moreover, it may become the start of large problems for population of the peninsula.

He has said about this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada Tuesday, March 11.

“The Crimean referendum is illegitimate, and its holding must be immediately stopped. And the Party of Regions must take an active position in this issue. Because holding of such a referendum may become the start of large problems for many people, residing in Crimea,” the Party of Regions press service cites the people's deputy.

He also added that a declaration of the Crimean parliament on independence of the autonomy is also illegitimate. “The Crimean parliament has no right to take such decisions,” the politician stressed.

He is convinced that the situation that has formed in Crimea may be solved exclusively through negotiations, and any military actions will only aggravate the tension in the society.

It should be noted that a decision to hold the referendum on March 16 on Crimea's accession to Russia was taken by the Crimean parliament headed by self-appointed Speaker Volodymyr Konstatynov, who has said March 9 that now he heads the Crimean organization of the Party of Regions instead of Crimean ex-Premier Anatoliy Mohyliov.
