Ukraine's Honorary Consulate to open in Burgas

KYIV, September 11 /Ukrinform/. The Bulgarian government on Wednesday agreed to the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Burgas, the press office of the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The government has agreed to open another Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in the country with permanent residence in Burgas. It will provide consular services in the district, which covers the territory of Burgas, Yambol, Targovishte, Sliven and Shumen provinces. Dimitar Karanenov has been nominated for the post of Ukraine's Honorary Consul," the report reads.

The future Honorary Consul of Ukraine graduated from Stavropol Polytechnic University and the University of Economics in Varna. He worked in various positions at Balkan tourist, including the company's CEO. Now he is the owner and director of a travel company in Burgas.

Now in Bulgaria, except for the Ukrainian Embassy in Sofia and the Consulate General in Varna, there are honorary consulates in Ruse and Plovdiv.
