KYIV, June 15 /UKRINFORM/. The unification congress has unanimously decided to elect Yulia Tymoshenko the leader of Batkivshchyna, and Arseniy Yatseniuk the political council chairman, a correspondent of UKRINFORM reported.
Oleksandr Turchynov became first deputy chairman of the party and chairman of the headquarters, when Serhiy Sobolev, Borys Tarasiuk, Serhiy Vlasenko, Hryhoriy Nemyria and others were elected his deputies.
Thus, the party Batkivshchyna has officially incorporated Front for Change, Reforms and Order Party and part of the People's Movement of Ukraine.
After voting for this decision of the congress delegates, Batkivshchyna party tickets were given to Yatseniuk, Sobolev and Tarasiuk.
When reading a message of greetings from Yulia Tymoshenko, her daughter Yevhenia quoted the party leader as saying concerning Arseniy Yatseniuk: "People are checked by deeds. We have been doing a common cause with Arseniy and the team for more than a year... I trust Arseniy, I see how difficult it is to him. Both allies and enemies hit him point-blank, but he can fight fire with fire, he is a fighter, and at the same time an intelligent, contemporary and patriotic politician - that is four in one."
In addition, Tymoshenko said that Yatseniuk is not a competitor to her, and added that "the united Batkivshchyna will not repeat the mistakes of 2005."
