Feygin hopes for political support from France in Sushchenko’s case

France has political and diplomatic possibilities to influence the Russian government to release Ukrinform correspondent Roman Sushchenko who was illegally arrested in Moscow.

Mark Feygin, the lawyer of the Ukrainian journalist, said this after a meeting in the Senate of France on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Following the meeting, I got the impression that the issue at the political level can be solved positively, but the administrative and bureaucratic level still requires additional efforts, meetings, discussions within the main departments of France, especially in the Foreign Ministry," the lawyer of the Ukrainian journalist said.

At the same time, Feygin expressed hope that the political support for the process of Sushchenko’s liberation will be provided by the French Parliament.
