District Administrative Court opens proceedings on gas contracts suit

Kyiv District Administrative Court has opened proceedings into the suit against the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Property Fund on the revocation of the gas contracts between Russia's Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine, TV Channel 5 reported.
KYIV, April 5 /UKRINFORM/. Kyiv District Administrative Court has opened proceedings into the suit against the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Property Fund on the revocation of the gas contracts between Russia's Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine, TV Channel 5 reported.
The lawsuit was filed by lawyer Stanislav Batrin. "Since the president as chairman of the National Security and Defense Council acknowledged that the implementation of the 2009 gas contracts poses a danger to the state, the Cabinet must terminate them rather than fulfill," Batrin argued.
Therefore, the lawyer, as a citizen of Ukraine, believes that the government has thus violated his right to security guaranteed by the state.
