EBRD may increase investment in Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti have met in Kyiv and discussed further cooperation agenda.

"The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is our financial partner, extremely important investor for Ukraine. We deeply appreciate our joint work. The Government is set to deepen cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. We have a number of joint programs. We think that today's meeting will be another impetus for deepening this cooperation," Groysman said.

The EBRD President praised the Ukrainian Government's efforts in carrying out the important and significant reforms, in particular in the macroeconomic field and in the reform of the banking system, the introduction of the ProZorro electronic system of public procurement and e-declaration.

"The progress is obvious. Ukraine is an important partner for the EBRD. We try to support the pace of reforms and investments in Ukraine," Chakrabarti said.

He informed that the EBRD had invested EUR 400 million in Ukraine this year and this amount could be increased next year.
