Ukraine, EU to update energy memorandum

Ukraine and the EU are going to sign a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation in the energy sector.
The parties plan to sign the strategic document on the EU-Ukraine Summit on November 24, an Ukrinform correspondent learnt from the European Commission official.
As the official explained, a new strategic document is intended to replace the memorandum of cooperation in the energy sector of 2005.
"Over a decade has passed. Now it's time to update our relations with Ukraine in the energy sector, in particular, to adapt them to the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. We are talking about all the issues, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, research and technology. We hope that the new strategic memorandum will enhance the cooperation and the process of reforms in Ukraine," the source said.
