Government ready to submit draft 2017 national budget to Parliament

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated this at an extraordinary government’s meeting on Thursday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We’ve done everything the government needed to do so that the 2017 national budget can be submitted to the Ukrainian parliament,” the premier said.

According to him, members of Government carried out a range of discussions with MPs and retained all the main tasks envisaged in the first draft of the national budget for 2017.

At the same time, Groysman noted that the final draft national budget foresees an increase in wages by UAH 3,200. And this will have no negative influence on the Ukrainian economy, as the deficit will remain at 3%, he assured.

As earlier reported, on September 15, the draft law on the national budget for 2017 was submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers. Revenues of the government’s draft national budget for 2017 are envisaged at UAH 706.3 billion, expenditures – UAH 775.3 billion. Also, the GDP is expected at the level of 3% with the inflation of 8.1%, and the exchange rate of hryvnia is expected to be UAH 27.2 against U.S. dollar.

On October 20, the Cabinet of Ministers received from the Verkhovna Rada conclusions and proposals on this draft law to prepare the document for the second reading. The Ukrainian lawmakers developed and submitted 1,165 amendments to the bill.
