Ukraine will introduce reference pricing system for drugs from January 1, 2017.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated during Question Hour in Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“From January 1, 2017, we will introduce a system of real reference pricing for drugs. The point at issue is that medicines in three, five, seven countries around Ukraine are cheaper today. Thus, we will tie our domestic prices to the prices set in such countries and get a reference value, allowing us to lower prices for drugs. I realize that we will be opposed by those who cash in on such things, but we absolutely do not care about that,” Groysman said.
