Ukraine reduced electricity consumption by 5.2% in H1, 2016

Ukraine in January-June 2016 consumed 58.5639 billion kilowatt per hour, which is by 3.2194 billion less than in the same period last year, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reports.

Thus, Ukraine consumed 58,563.9 million kilowatt per hour in January-June 2016, and – 61,783.3 million kilowatt per hour in January-June 2015, according to the report.

The figures show that the fuel industry reduced electricity consumption the most - by 28% compared with the first six months of 2015. At the same time, the production of building materials showed the highest rise in consumption - by 4.7% compared with the first six months of last year.

The population in January- June 2016 reduced electricity consumption by 6.5% compared with the same period last year.
