About UAH 6 bln needed to liberalize Ukrainian transport operations - Ukravtotrans
Petro Ovchar, Vice President of the state department of motor transport Ukravtotrans, said this during consultations dedicated to the development of a concept for de-regulation and liberalization of passenger transportation, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“About UAH 6 billion is needed to introduce new European requirements, stipulated in a bill [the draft law on amending some legislative acts of Ukraine in the sphere of transport operations in order to bring them in line with EU legislation]. At the same time, the industry bears huge financial burden,” Ovchar said.
According to him, there are three main problems in the transport sector: "These are the issue of benefits, the adjustment of fares for using urban transport, and the admission to the market, this means the types of traffic: regular and not regular".
