Ukraine, EU to form expert group to enhance Kyiv’s capabilities of natural gas transit

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic have agreed to establish an expert group to boost Ukrainian gas transit capabilities during their meeting in Brussels, Government site has reported.
"We want to increase Ukraine’s transit role and we are prepared for joint efforts to accomplish the task," said Groysman.
He noted that the Ukrainian Government would be represented in the team by Naftogaz od Ukraine CEO Andriy Kobolyev.
In turn, Vice-President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic has stressed willingness to form such an expert group immediately.
"There is consensus in Europe on using and maintaining Ukrainian natural gas pipeline system," he noted.
