Ukrainian Government in talks with investors to modernize Black Sea ports, railways and river transport

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is in talks with several international companies to find investors for the modernization of the Black Sea ports, railways and river transport.

This was announced by Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian.

"The trade relations between Ukraine and Russia were severed due to the armed conflict in the eastern regions. Therefore, we will try to compensate for this loss becoming a transit hub for supplies from the Persian Gulf countries, Asia, China to the Nordic countries and the Baltic states. The Cabinet of Ministers is in talks with several international companies to find investors for the modernization of the Black Sea ports, railways and river transport," the Minister stressed.

"I would like to bring the negotiations with China Shipping and the Port of Dubai to a successful conclusion," Volodymyr Omelian said, adding that the administration of the Port of Dubai is considering the possibility of investing in the Odesa port.
