Ukraine will not only cover its own demand but it will also earn fund from exporting natural gas when it implements energy conservation measures, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has told a briefing in parliament, Ukrinform reports.
"Our task is to extract 20 billion by state natural gas enterprises. In the context of energy-saving steps we will sell 15 billion provisionally to households, and five billion will be sold for foreign currency abroad," said Groysman.
He recalled that a considerable amount of its own natural gas production is produced by private companies.
"Out of 20 billion Ukrainian own natural gas production eight billion cubic meters of gas are produced by private companies. This gas is produced by special permission granted to private companies. Therefore we don’t possess 20 billion. Furthermore, the European law on gas market was adopted last year.
