NBU lowers discount rate to 18%

The National Bank of Ukraine has approved a decision to reduce discount rate to 18%, according to NBU Governor Natalia Gontareva.
The NBU board took a decision to reduce the discount rate to 18% per annum from May 27, 2016,” Gontareva said at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the NBU governor, lowering the discount rate become possible due to the sustained trend towards the slowing of inflation, which is coordinated with the inflation targets for 2016 and 2017.
