EU approves sanctions against officials of Yanukovych regime

The European Union has approved a legal decision to extend the sanctions, imposed on the former Ukrainian senior officials.

The decision was approved by the Council of the European Union on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels reports.

The restrictive measures will be extended for one year. The assets of sixteen people, suspected of misappropriation, will remain blocked.

One person is reported to be removed from the black list, which will be released on March 5. According to sources, former Health Minister Raisa Bohatyriova has been excluded from the sanctions list.
