Zguladze says police will save money this year on everything, including salaries

An adequate salary should be paid not only to police personnel but also to border guards and customs officers, but this year the interior ministry will save money on paying salaries.
First Deputy Interior Minister Eka Zguladze told a meeting of the joint session of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Justice, "From new police to new justice and safety of people," Ukrinform reports.
"We are very grateful to the United States and Canada for providing fine uniforms for new patrol police. But this year we'll save on everything that we have for other priorities, including on salaries," Zguladze said.
According to her, good salaries must be paid not only to police personnel but also to border guards, customs officers, and National Guard servicemen.
"And we go take this risk. Less populism and less beauty and investment in people," the police official noted.
