Kharkiv Malyshev Plant is ready to resume supplies of tanks to Thailand.

Chief engineer of the plant Olexandr Sheiko told journalists at a press tour of the plant, Ukrinform reports.

"As a rule, export contracts are agreed with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and are allowed with the permission issued by the General Staff of Ukraine. The exact date of shipping another cargo can not be released. If the Ministry of Defense gives green light, it is estimated to ship in December. We are ready to complete the Thai contract in case of the approval of the Ministry of Defense in 2016,"  said Sheiko.

According to him, the number of machinery of another cargo is not disclosed.

"The Ministry of Defense ordered the production of several dozen both Bulat and Oplot tanks in 2016 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We have already received the order. The information is classified," he noted.

Contract with Thailand, as Ukrinform reported earlier, was signed in 2011 for 49 Oplot tanks worth about $250 million. In April 2012, Malyshev Plant started implementing the contract. The first five tanks were delivered to Thailand in late 2013. They are used for training purposes.
