IMF expecting structural reforms from Ukrainian parliament
Jerome Vacher, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine, said at a panel discussion entitled “Does Ukraine need its own macroeconomic policy?” an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We are pointing out structural reforms because Ukraine is experiencing the second transition period. It is very difficult. We need to see readiness and decisiveness of the government,” Vacher said.
Vacher called on the national institutions to conduct reforms like the National Bank did.
“We welcome steps made by the National Bank of Ukraine, it really managed to do not only this [the macroeconomic stabilization], but it managed to reform itself. Now we are encouraging other establishments in the country to use this as an example,” Vacher said.
