The supplies of anthracite coal from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas can be resumed today, if officials of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry will manage to agree with the Crimean Tatar activists on the resumption of one of the damaged electricity lines.

Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As soon as we resume the Kakhovka-Titan line, supplies [of coal] from the ATO area will be also resumed. I know that carriages, which have been already loaded, are ready to depart. As soon as we understand what to do, I believe the supplies will be resumed. This can take place today. We are speaking about the legalized schemes of deliveries,” the minister said.

The minister explained that by restoring one of the electricity lines, Ukraine will slightly resume the electricity supplies to Crimea. At the same time, this will not resolve the problem of electricity supplies and, thus, Crimean Tatar activists will have chances to continue their protest action.
