Economic Ministry: Cheap imported goods will not replace Ukrainian products
Ukrainian Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Natalia Mykolska told reporters following a meeting of the working group regarding the access of Ukrainian goods to the market of EU member states, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In the context of Ukrainian hryvnia devaluation we don’t see it as a major threat, that’s why our goods are rather competitive in terms of a price and of good quality,” Mykolska said.
She also noted that Ukrainians begun to buy mostly Ukrainian goods.
“The idea of national patriotism has become popular among our consumers, and people are buying Ukrainian [products],” she emphasized.
As a reminder, an agreement on the free trade zone comes into effect in Ukraine on January 1, 2016.
