Ukrinform
U.S. company Westinghouse is ready to supply nuclear fuel for all Ukrainian nuclear power plants because it passed all tests with flying colors after being spent in the Ukrainian reactor.

President of Westinghouse Danny Roderick told the Governmental Courier newspaper in his interview.

"Fuel, which we loaded into the Ukrainian reactor, was inspected by us after it had been spent, and it perfectly passed all tests. So we intend to ship as much fuel as possible to diversify supplies.

He noted that most of the nuclear fuel in Ukraine is supplied by Russia, but Westinghouse wants to help to diversify supplies and expand its presence.

He said that today one of the main investment opportunities is an assistance to diversify supplies of nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants in Ukraine which generate over 50 percent of all electricity.

Today, Westinghouse ensures an alternative to Russian supplies of nuclear fuel for the South-Ukrainian NPP, and Westinghouse also plans to load fuel into the units of Zaporizhzhya NPP in 2016.
