Finance Ministry welcomes the decision made by Standard & Poor's rating agency to increase Ukraine credit rating from a selective default SD/D to B-/B.

The press service of Finance Ministry reports.

"This rating increase is a direct positive effect of adopting the terms of restructuring by the owners of 13 of the 14 series of sovereign Ukraine Eurobonds, which took place during talks with creditors on October 14, 2015," a statement said.

Finance Ministry believes it is the first step to get Ukraine back in the international capital markets and it facilitates obtaining funding from international financial institutions and export credit agencies.

As a reminder, Standard & Poor’s international rating agency has earlier upgraded Ukraine credit rating from SD/D to B-/ B.
