Zaporizhzhia NPP receives modern equipment worth over 14 million euros from EU

On October 20, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombinski has transferred modern equipment worth over 14 million euros, Ukrinform reforms.

"National Training Center, which has no analogues in the world, has been funded by the European Union and the Government of Ukraine, is a modern training base for nuclear power plants’ staff. I hope that now the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant will host specialists from all over the world for training. Nuclear safety is a number one priority. It has no borders, therefore, the world must be protected,” said the ambassador.

General Director of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant Vyasechlav Tyshchenko noted the educational center will be fully operational in the fourth quarter of 2016. Today, the first stage of the project has been launched, but there are 22 operating educational laboratories that the EU has paid for. There will be a total of 159 operating full-scale simulators.
