Norway to increase financial aid to Ukraine by NOK 80 mln

Norway will increase financial assistance to Ukraine in 2016 by another 80 million Norwegian krone up to 390 million krone (about USD 48 million).

The Foreign Ministry of Norway informed this.

"Ukraine has proved its commitment to the implementation of far-reaching reforms and European integration ... That’s why the government proposes to increase support for Ukraine by NOK 80 million. The financial assistance of Norway to Ukraine in 2016 will amount to approximately NOK 390 million," the statement said.

The key areas of Norway’s support include the judicial reform and effective management, energy sector reform and energy efficiency, increase in competitiveness of the country, as well as strengthening of the private sector and entrepreneurship.
