Ukraine exports first two million eggs to Israel

KYIV, October 1/ Ukrinform/. The first two million Ukrainian eggs are available in the Israeli market now.

Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of the European integration Vladyslava Rutytska made a statement published on the ministry's website commenting on the prospects for expanding the range of food staples on the market of Israel.

"The first two million Ukrainian eggs are available in the Israeli market, " said the deputy minister.

Ukraine obtained permission to export eggs to Israel last August, after appropriate assessment was carried out by the competent authorities. The assessment was conducted at seven Ukrainian companies. Two of them were issued exports permits.

Previously, the main supplier of eggs to Israel had been Turkey. But after suspicion of avian influenza outbreak in Turkey, Israel has suspended imports of these products.
