KYIV, September 28 / Ukrinform./ The Ministry of agrarian policy and food is waiting for the permit from inspectors of veterinary service of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) that will lift the ban regarding avian flu, and to extend the right for Ukraine to export its meat to the KSA.

The press-service of the ministry reports on its website.

"After the completion of the internal procedures, the competent authority in Saudi Arabia will decide to lift the ban regarding avian flu, and give Ukraine rights to export to the KSA," a statement said.

A meeting between inspectors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who came to Ukraine to assess the system of state control for compliance with the requirements for exports of poultry meat and its products to the KSA market.

"The chance to export chicken meat to the KSA will begin a new stage in the development of our bilateral relations," said the minister Oleksiy Pavlenko.

As a background note, in the eight months of 2015 the exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to Saudi Arabia amounted to $246.3 million. The main export commodities are grain, dairy products, honey, fruit and sunflower oil.
