Ukrainian Defence Minister Poltrak meets with U.S. Senator Donnelly

Ukrainian Defence Minister, Army General Stepan Poltorak said this at the meeting with U.S. Senator Joseph Donnelly, the press service of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine reports.

"When our country faced the threat from the neighboring country, the United States was among the first countries which responded and supported us. The United States of America continues providing assistance, both political and financial. It is an invaluable contribution to the security situation in Ukraine," Poltorak said.

In turn, Senator Donnelly assured that the US would continue providing comprehensive support to Ukraine, which would be not affected with the results of future presidential elections as "there are a lot of people in the US who are willing to support Ukraine in every possible way, including U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter."
