ATO: Militants violated ceasefire 48 times in Donbas

Russian-backed militants launched 48 attacks on the Ukrainian positions in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine over the past day, the press center of the ATO headquarters reports. 

In Luhansk direction, 16 ceasefire violations were recorded. Terrorists shelled Stanitsa Luhanska using grenade launchers, antiaircraft emplacement and small arms. Moreover, Russian-backed militants used grenade launchers, mortars and small arms to launch attacks on Ukrainians soldiers near Krymske, Novooleksandrivka, and Novozvanivka. In addition, the enemy used 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars to shell the Ukrainian positions in Novooleksandrivka and Krymske.

In Mariupol direction, 20 ceasefire violations were recorded. Militants used small arms, grenade launchers and machine guns to shell Vodiane, Shyrokyno, and Pavlopil. In addition, terrorists shelled the positions of Ukrainian army near Shyrokyno using armored personnel carrier, and sniper fire was recorded in Pavlopil.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists violated ceasefire 12 times. Militants used small arms, grenade launchers, machine guns to shell the Ukrainian troops in Avdiivka, Verkhnyotoretske, Zaitseve, Kamianka and Novhorodske. Also, in Avdiivka and Zaitseve, the enemy used 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars, and a152-mm tube artillery systems near Zaitseve. In addition, the enemy fired at the Ukrainian defenders from tanks, and sniper fire was recorded in Verkhnyotoretske.
