About 17,000 female soldiers serve in Ukrainian Armed Forces

At present 17,000 women serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, what makes 8.5% of a general number of armed forces personnel.
Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said this at a round table meeting in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“At present there are 17,000 women in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, this is about 8.5% of a general number of personnel,” she said.
She also added that due to military actions in eastern Ukraine, 1,300 women jointed the Ukrainian army, what shows women’s readiness for military service.
