Steinmeier: ‘New rules’ for armistice in Donbas being prepared

During a visit to Oslo on Sunday, September 4, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced a new instrument to support an armistice in Donbas.
"We are working with the OSCE for a new regulation to keep the ceasefire. We are now in preparation which will allow us to soon meet again on the foreign ministers’ level," he said.
Steinmeier added that the new document would be ready in "a few weeks". However, he did not specify what kind of a document was being prepared.
Steinmeier said implementation of the Minsk accord by Russia and Ukraine remained disappointing, and the security situation in eastern Ukraine was "really insufficient."
