Steinmeier calls for ceasefire in eastern Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has urged to take a chance of truce in eastern Ukraine during the Easter and May holidays, an Ukrinform correspondent in Germany reports.
"Both sides should not miss the chance and should prevent the escalation of violence. Otherwise, the situation will get out of control and people will die again," the Minister said, noting that he welcomes the agreement on truce during the Orthodox Easter and May holidays, reached by the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.
Steinmeier called on all parties to the conflict to strictly adhere to the agreement.
