More than 12,000 people signed up for contract in Armed Forces year to date

The number of people who apply to conclude the contract for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the year has totaled more than 12,000.
Spokeswoman for the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Oksana Havryliuk told a briefing in Kyiv Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.
"In 2016 the number of those wishing to enter military service under the contract amounted to more than 12,000 people. Of these, more than 9,300 have signed the contract," said the spokesperson.
The defense ministry stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have changed its approach to selection and recruitment for military service under the contract.
