The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission continues to enlarge the territory of its activities in Donbas and obtained the access to a checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Russian border, although militants are still preventing observers from their work.
Deputy Chief Monitor of OSCE SMM, Alexander Hug, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, November 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“This week we managed to carry out regular visits, in particular, in Horlivka and Debaltseve. It’s important that we managed to achieve access to several checkpoints on the border between Ukraine and Russia, which are controlled by the so-called LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic). At the same time, the militants laid a condition that they would constantly accompany missions’ representatives,” he noted.
At the same time, Hug noted that in spite of the laid condition it was “a step ahead”.
