Criminal case opened into mass food poisoning incident in Izmail

A mass poisoning incident by shawarma in an Izmail fast food cafe, Odesa region, will be subject of a criminal case, the press service of State Food Consumer Service has reported.

"Based on detected violations of the sanitary legislation in First food cafe that resulted in damaging public health after the clients of this institution ate shawarma, a criminal case has been opened under the Criminal Code of Ukraine article 325," General Directorate of State Food Consumer Service in the Odessa region has said.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported about an outbreak of salmonellosis among Izmail city residents. As of July 25, 88 patients, including 16 children, remain in an infectious diseases hospital.
