Ukrainian Interior Minister announces new covert operations against ‘amber mafia’

The Interior Ministry of Ukraine will hold the covert operations against the "amber mafia" in Zhytomyr and Volyn regions like it was earlier done in Rivne region.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said this to journalists today, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"So far, this operation [against the amber mafia] has been conducted only in Rivne region, because the tensest situation was observed there. However, the situation in Zhytomyr and Volyn regions is close to that and the similar processes will take place there," Avakov said.
He added that the Environment Ministry should soon present the state concept of settlement of the amber extraction.
