Su-25 military jet crashes outside Zaporizhzhia, pilot dies

At around 10.00 on Nov.11,  a Su-25 plane of the Air Force of Ukraine crashed during the planned training flight.

The tragedy occurred 40 kilometers north of the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, the press service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff wrote in Facebook.

The pilot, born in 1992, died. The civilians were not injured. A search and rescue team is working at the scene. The cause and circumstances of the crash are being investigated.

UPDATE: Fighter jet Su-25 crashed at about 11.00 outside the village of Petro-Mykhaylivka.

A regional Ukrinform correspondent said who witnessed the incident.

She said the jet was found an hour later after the crash. The falling plane reportedly broke the power lines.
